Dr Karen Price on how the RACGP will bring training back in house and make the speciality more appealing to graduates.

From January 2023, GP registrar training and governance will be handed back to the RACGP and ACRRM from the Department of Health.

Last episode we delved into some of the concerns raised by the chairs of WA’s Supervisor, Registrar, and Practice Manager Advisory Councils about the future of training and workforce stability.

This episode we’re joined by RACGP president Dr Karen Price to talk about the plan for college-led training, the response to concerns raised by various stakeholders and the plan to make general practice a more attractive specialty.

The RACGP’s profession-led community-based training proposal can be found here.
