No prizes for guessing then that, despite being clearly labelled âNot approved for human consumptionâ, folks in the US have been swigging down the potion in a bid to get high.
While not containing any actual catnip, the product does have 1,4-butanediol in it – a compound which metabolises as the date rape drug GHB when ingested.
So not only does it induce severe mood swings and erratic behaviour in humans, itâs probably not going to be all that great for the cat either.     Â
