What’s new in medical tech?

Wearables, wound care and who’s afraid of Big Data – a GP’s take on Digital Health Summit 2022.

More GPs attended the Digital Health Summit this year than ever before – maybe because despite being about virtual care, it was the first face-to-face event for many since the pandemic began.

Dr Amandeep Hansra was one of those delegates and she shares on this week’s podcast what was hot at the summit from a GP’s perspective.

Dr Hansra is well placed to comment on the future of virtual care for general practice, as well as what’s new for GPs in medical tech. She one of the clinical reference leads for the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA), is one of Telstra’s Brilliant Women in Digital Health 2021 and she has nearly two decades of clinical experience.

[Correction: In the podcast I refer to Dr Hansra as the clinical lead at ADHA. However, Dr Hansra is one of many clinical leads at ADHA. It’s a role she’s jointly held for the last four years.]

On the side Dr Hansra leads Creative Careers in Medicine. The organisation started as a Facebook group and has expanded to 14,000 members who explore medical career paths beyond the traditional physician, surgeon and GP options.

You can listen and subscribe to the show by searching for “The Tea Room Medical Republic” in your favourite podcast player.
