The event is not about moonshot ideas. It will aim to surface and discuss obvious, practical and achievable near term initiatives that might help shift the whole system away from the many redundancies and inefficiencies that have built up as natural consequence of a federated model of funding and an installed technology base for sharing information that is either fragmented, dysfunctional or legacy.

The half-day workshop on 17 June is an exclusive event facilitated by Nous Group, and will be centred around practical ideas and strategies for the alignment of system stakeholders within a 2-3 year window, assuming no major changes to our current policy and funding envelopes. It will also have a focus on how far the federally led “sharing by default” initiative might help shift the dial and on technology enabled workforce solutions. It will begin at 12pm with a lunch and run until 5pm, followed by welcome drinks.

The one-day summit on 18 June will be opened up for all attendees and will run from 9am – 5pm.

Summit Topics include:

  • How much changes to our technology base can achieve in the near term over and above any structural and/or funding reform
  • A strawman for piloting a single integrated regional health funding and management paradigm in Australia
  • Workforce and technology, particularly the immediate term possibilities of AI
  • The role of the private sector and public private partnerships in a one healthcare system system model
  • Commissioning (vs procurement) for the integrated primary, tertiary and allied care needs of a single region
