Unbelievable !!
Not the fact that the Budget has once again screwed general practitioners but the response of the RACGP.
The president says the College is very disappointed at this news and says that this extension of the Freeze will affect the viability of General practice in the future. Hasn’t the College been listening to what every doctor has said since the first extension of the Freeze was put into place?

This is the same college that spent $2.5 million dollars of its members money on a self-promoting advertising campaign called the ‘good doctor’ campaign that did not even once address the fact that general practice was under threat by the freeze, the same College that almost destroyed general Practice by giving support to the 10 minute level A consultation that would have resulted in loss of $1000’s of dollars to every family GP, and the same college that had given approval for the govt’s ‘Medical Home’ concept without knowing the detail.
The same college that put out a poster telling suspected Ebola or Swine Flu ( I forget which one, seeing as they have been responsible for so many bloopers in the past) contacts to go to their GP rather that ED,that was quickly withdrawn from circulation.

What a disgraceful lame response by the RACGP long after the horse has bolted!

And we have to pay compulsory extortionate yearly fees to this lame group for adding up our CME points .
At least I am not forced to pay money to that other so-called representative of the GP, the AMA.
