- All eyes are on the United States today, so the COVID-19 round is unusually quiet. That’s in stark contrast to the COVID-19 infection rates in the US, which are skyrocketing. All but three states have rising case loads, according to the Guardian, and seven states have broken new hospitalisation records.
States including Michigan, Iowa and Kansas have seen a greater than 50% increase in new infections this week compared to the previous week. California and Texas are approaching one million total cases each.
There’s good news for some states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Hawaii and Guam, where infection rates are going down. - Here are the latest confirmed COVID-19 infection numbers from around Australia to 9pm Tuesday:
