Fine needle aspiration biopsy should only be used to aspirate a cyst which is really painful for a patient, says Dr Lazarus
Breast biopsies should be performed whenever a mass is detected on an ultrasound, experts say.

âComplex cysts are ones that have thick walls and increased vascularity,â she says.
These biopsies should be performed using a core biopsy needle.
âI would only use a fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy to aspirate a cyst which is symptomatic â we do not touch cysts unless they are really painful,â says Dr Lazarus.
