Rosacea is a chronic acneiform, which looks like acne. Normally it occurs between the ages of 30 and 60.

“The end stage of rosacea is the unkindly named ‘potato nose’ or rhinophyma,” says Dr Ritu Gupta, a medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologist based in Ultimo.

“So the aim of the game is really to treat patients before they get to this stage. Early treatment can induce remission but also prevent progression to otherwise permanent disfigurements.”
