Hard as it might be to believe, there are folks out there that won’t undertake a skin cancer check because they are reluctant to take their clothes off in front of a medical professional.
But a solution could be at hand, thanks to Queensland scientists who are harnessing the powers of artificial intelligence to come up with a smartphone app that would allow for a full body scan to be undertaken in the privacy of one’s own boudoir.
The app takes a large number of high-resolution images and sends them to a remote server for processing, quickly creating a complete 3D reconstruction of the individual’s body with each mole and lesion analysed, assessed and compared with previous scans, allowing for early detection of changes.
