As the public starts to see the number of COVID-19 notifications decrease, it's likely they will no longer see the disease as a threat, and may quickly return to their old habits


The public health measures to control COVID-19 in Australia has already seen to significant downfall in notified cases.

But while the future containment and eradication of the disease remains in doubt, the threat of public complacency in following public health guidelines, remains one of the biggest problems.

In this episode, The Medical Republic speaks to Professor Julie Leask, social scientist at The University of Sydney school of nursing and midwifery, faculty of medicine and health, about what is needed to keep public attention on COVID-19 and how GPs can debunk myths patients might have about the virus.
