The peak body for GP registrars is partnering with an AI scribe provider to offer free services to its members.
Members of General Practice Registrars Australia will have free access to AI medical scribe technology from next month.
As part of a partnership between GPRA and the medical scribe provider Heidi Health, GP registrars will be given free access to Heidi Pro AI.
Heidi Health’s basic service, which facilitates real-time note taking, is already available for free on its website, however the Pro service can be used to create unlimited referral letters and patient summaries, among other additional features.
The tech company will also provide workshops and other educational activities on using AI in general practice, which will be promoted, alongside the AIs services, in GPRA’s newsletters and on social media.
The peak body’s president Dr Chris Dickie said the collaboration could make a significant difference to the day-to-day workload of GPs.
“This partnership aligns with GPRA’s commitment to equipping our members – the future GPs of Australia – with the best resources to excel in their training and careers,” Dr Dickie said.
