Dr Halamka is one of the key physician influencers in the US, and is at the forefront of developing and practically applying emerging digital health technologies to the serious problems of equity and balance in the US healthcare system.
Wild Health will talk to him about how far the US has come in terms of its health equity journey through the application of the 21st Century Cures Act, and it’s alignment with the emerging potential of AI, cloud sharing, data analytics and virtual care technologies; including a discussion on how important and relevant hospital in the home is becoming in delivering care in the US.
As a part of the interview, Dr Halamka will be asked to relate his experiences and knowledge to the current digital health ecosystem in Australia.
Dr Halamka trained in emergency medicine and medical informatics, and has been at the forefront of developing and implementing health care information strategy and policy for more than 25 years. He specializes in artificial intelligence, the adoption of electronic health records and the secure sharing of healthcare data for care coordination, population health, and quality improvement. In 2020, Dr Halamka was elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
