GPs Down Under conference program finalised and tickets selling fast
Get your GPDU18 tickets quick. They might just sell out say organisers, and for the next few weeks, they’re still at the early bird rate. The conference will be at the RACV Royal Pines Gold Coast from May 31 to June 2.
Conference organiser, Maureen Ryan, says that with increasing sponsor support for the event, the organisers have decided to hold the early bird ticket prices open for a few more weeks in order to keep the price down as much as possible. ” The best time to get your tickets will likely be in the next two to three weeks although we are aiming to hold the prices as low as we can as long as we can,” Ryan told the Medical Republic.
“When we set our prices we just tried to keep them lower than all other similar events with workshops and two days of sessions. We didn’t really have a great idea of what support we’d get from sponsors. But the sponsors have responded really well to the grassroots nature and ideals of the GPDU group. The conversations are mostly very easy going with most wanting to support something which is so organic and GP led. With more early sponsor support we can keep the tickets longer at early bird pricing and start to offer specials for registrars and other groups who find these sorts of meetings hard to access.
The program for the event is finalised, other than three Pecha Kucha topics, which will be selected from entries submitted to the GPDU18 site at www.gpdu.com.au. Pecha Kucha is a talk format in which you have to present your topic in 20 slides, at the rate of twenty seconds for each slide. Anyone can enter their topic and talk. All Pecha Kuchaâs will be published on the GPDU website, and the winners will selected to talk at the conference. Entries can be submitted directly to the site. The talks are open to any GP to enter, or any exhibitor or supplier. Topics must be current and of course, entertaining and topical.
