Human limbs in the shape of a swastika, pineapple births, brain holes… istock isn’t the safe space you might expect it to be!
Like most publishing houses, we spend a lot of time browsing through stock images, looking for photographs that are: A) not yawn-inducing, B) not racist/sexist/transphobic/ageist/inappropriate and C) ideally display cute fluffy animals.
Unfortunately, every istock search is a roll of the dice, and can throw up something akin to Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights just as often as a kitten and baby duck photoshoot.
The following is a picture journey through our weirdest istock library experiences.
