The covid pandemic has killed in a deeply unequal way.


It’s clear that the fallout from covid has disproportionately plagued individuals of lower socioeconomic status.

This episode we are joined by Bianca Nogrady, an acclaimed science writer and the author of the TMR covid blog, to discuss how the social determinants of health have played out during the pandemic.

In the mid-1800s, German philosopher Friedrich Engels coined the term “social murder” after witnessing the appalling conditions in which the English working class lived.

The covid pandemic has shone a light on the concept of such social murder, and it’s not a pleasant picture.
