With face masks soon becoming mandatory in Melbourne, The Back Page is honestly a little concerned by the lack of quality fashion advice from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.
The state government’s advice has been very sound from a public health perspective, no question.
From midnight on Wednesday, people living in Melbourne or Mitchell Shire will be required to wear face masks when leaving the house or face a $200 fine.
The Victorian government has advised people to either buy a mask or make their own from three layers of clothing and shoelaces.
That’s all fairly affordable and do-able if you’ve got a pair of scissors and a needle and thread.
But nowhere on the Department’s website are crucial fashion tips that will help give this bold, apocalyptic look its much-needed “wow” factor.
Ok… deep breaths in… There are still a few precious hours left in this city-wide fashion challenge.
