How do we optimise dietary changes for people at risk of type 2 diabetes?

“The diabetes tsunami is coming on the back of the obesity epidemic,” says Associate Professor Grant Brinkworth, principal research scientist in clinical nutrition and exercise science at CSIRO.

Lifestyle modification is the first-line treatment, but the real question for researchers at CSIRO is: how is this best achieved when it comes to diabetes?

“If you are going to go to all that effort of lifestyle modification, how do you get the best bang for your buck?” asks Professor Brinkworth.
