No jab, no free cannabis

The Back Page can only applaud these incentive schemes to promote vaccine uptake.

Packets of weed are among the freebies that are being used to incentivise COVID vaccination in the US.

A cannabis activist group called DC Marijuana Justice is handing out weed gift bags to people who get a COVID vaccination in Washington.

Dozens of DC homegrowers will distribute free bags of cannabis outside vaccination centers “to celebrate this momentous occasion and thank people for getting vaccinated”, according to a press release.

The program is called “Joints for Jabs” and is (some would say tragically) unavailable in Australia.

“We are looking for ways to safely celebrate the end of the pandemic, and we know nothing brings people together like cannabis,” said the group’s co-founder Nikolas Schiller.

He lamented that the pandemic had made it extremely hard for many adults to share their homegrown cannabis.

Krispy Kreme is also sweetening the vaccination deal by throwing in a free Original Glazed doughnut for anyone who shows their COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card at a US store.

Surely… SURELY… Scotty from marketing can magic up a few Aussie perks for our vaccination drive… a sausage sizzle at the very least?!

If you see something outrageously unfair like someone else getting free doughnuts, say something … Send protest mail to felicity@medicalrepublic.com.au.
